Welcome to the McLouth Threshing Bee

The McLouth Threshing Bee is one of the longest running
Threshing Bees in the Nation!

Starting back in the 1950's when a local man by the name of Slim Watson had the idea
to invite people out to his home, serve them some food, and give a little demonstration on how his farm equipment worked.
It was a really big hit and it has continued since that time and with the help of many the tradition is continued today.
The McLouth Threshing Bee helps to keep alive the art of planting, harvesting, threshing and storing of grain forage
crops, along with the domestic arts, and the tools, implements, instruments and machinery showing the culture of pioneer
days. The educational and historical exhibits and displays are illustrated through reenactments with the working

Shopping:
Flea Market/ Swap Meet on the grounds during the Threshing Bee.
You can find such things as antiques, crafts, and other "fleas" as well as many yard sales around town.
Come spend a day shopping on and around the show grounds.
Also in town Local Bank, Caseys, Car wash, Health Clinic, Flower shop and Grocery store.

If you are not interested in being a member at this time but would like to make a contribution such as a financial, or perhaps a piece of antique equipment. We will welcome your donation, however if you want to donate a piece of antique equipment, it will have to be presented to the board of directors. This can be done by : e-mail, letter, or contacting a board member. Financial donations can be sent directly to McLouth Threshing Bee. However please do not send cash.
